When we receive your book as an electronic file, our prepress department will examine the document(s) to determine whether additional work may be required to make them press-ready.

We print your books direct-to-plate with our Scitex Imaging system, delivering 2,500 dpi quality without the extra cost of films and metal plates.

What is Press-Ready?

Press-Ready files are electronic files that have been formatted to create your final book. If your book is to print as a 5.5” x 8.5” volume your document must be set up with a page size of 5.5” x 8.5” with margins, headers, footers, chapter breaks, photos and any other page elements where they belong.

Supported file formats include:

• Adobe Acrobat PFD’s (distilled with Acrobat 4.0 compatibility
  and created with the settings for PDFX1a or Press Ready).
• Quark Express 6.5 or earlier, PC or Mac
• Adobe InDesign CS or earlier, PC or Mac
• Adobe PageMaker 7 or earlier, PC or Mac
• Microsoft Publisher 2002 or earlier
• Files created in MS Word and Word Perfect may be acceptable.
  But if you are able to completely format your book in one of these
  programs saving it as an Acrobat PDFX1a formatted PDF will be best.

Keyline Copy may also be considered Press-Ready

With our Mitsubishi Camera-Direct system we can still produce your book from paste ups or an existing book.
